Emily was raised on the West Coast and attended college at Georgia State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Her love of horses brought her to Lexington, Kentucky, shortly after graduating. She has worked in the horse industry for over 30 years, first working for four years on a Thoroughbred breeding farm. She has worked for three publications: The Thoroughbred Record (Thoroughbred racing magazine that merged with The Thoroughbred Times), The American Saddlebred (official publication of the American Saddlebred Horse Association), and USDF Connection (official publication of the United States Dressage Federation). Her expertise is in magazine production and graphic design. Although she no longer rides, she has ridden hunter/jumper, dressage, and played polo.
